Ori Topaz is an independent designer specializing in leather craftwork. She has a Bachelor degree with honors in multidisciplinary fine arts from Hunter College, NYC and a M.Des with honors in Interdisciplinary Design for Fashion, Textile and accessories from Shenkar Collage. Beginning in 2017, Ori joined CIRTex, The David & Barbara Blumenthal Israel Center for Innovation and Research in Textiles as a researcher.

At CIRTex, she is involved in projects on advanced textile structures, circular economy in textiles and leather, textile material innovation, and functional fabrics. She also teaches at the Interdisciplinary Design program and at the Master Design Program at Shenkar Collage. Her personal research focuses on innovation between craft and technology.
